American scientists have created an analogue of the human eye

Scientists from the school of engineering and applied Sciences at Harvard University (SEAS) have managed to develop an artificial eye with electronic control, according to The Harvard Gazette.
The invention represents a square metalindo and artificial muscle from polymers and electrodes. Such artificial eye works on the principle of human — focus in tension and compression lenses and distinguish surrounding objects.
Artificial eyes are able to adjust the range of vision defects, for example, astigmatism. According to scientists, this invention can be used not only in ophthalmology, but also in microscopes and glasses virtual reality.
