SOLAR BATTERIES, BY THICKNESS OF A PAPER, AS A COVERING FOR WINDOW OR ROOF

The researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology have published the first results of a new research project. The project includes development of solar batteries, by thickness of a paper which can be used as a covering for windows or roofs.
The new solar batteries are capable to generate current, sufficient for supplying of the small light-emitting diode display.

The research group assumes using of "paper" solar batteries on jalousies and curtains or, probably, even on a laptop cover. The secret of the technology is in a layer-by-layer production process that can be corrected in consideration of various requirements.
The researchers have used five layers of hard material, put on the paper padding, for creation of the flexible "paper" solar battery; each layer has unique destinati
on.
