Google testing free doctor consultation
A new feature on Google search was uncovered and it will allow users to directly consult the doctor over cellular data or WiFi with video call. No official word yet from Google about the feature, but it was first spotted by an Android user, so it’s possible that this limited time free doctor consultation is exclusive to Google’s own mobile operating system.
A user from Reddit first spotted the feature after searching the term ‘knee pain’ — and then Google displayed the search results alongside a small pop-up window saying that he was searching for a medical condition. The automated message added, “here you can find health care providers who you can visit with over voice chat.”
Several reports on the web are suggesting that this feature is a part of Google’s Helpouts service which gives online users a quick access to expert advice for fitness, food and nutrition and so much more. Google may be paying these doctors to expand the reach of its online expert services.
At Google Helpouts, users can pay pundits using Google Wallet, the search giant’s online payment service. Google said that some services are free, and some are not. Apparently, doctors will soon charge users for every online medical consultations.
