Seven engineering miracles of the modern world...

Each of listed below engineering miracles of the world has established a certain record - on a dyne, width or other sizes. These inventions of the modern world are located from Venice to Boston, from Egypt to England.

 1. Italy represents the project of the Venice Water Barrier which promises to become the most powerful in the world protection against flooding in this list. How to rescue a historical city of channels and gondoliers from flooding? Answers to this question thousand of experts already  search for many years.

 2. The highest and heaviest open lift plies on mountains of China. Glass giant Вailong delivers people to top of mountain Zhangjiajie. The most interesting is that approximately on 1/3 lift passes in mountain, the others 2/3 leave on opening mountain landscapes. As long tourists needed to enjoy dizzy beauty of slopes through glass doors of the lift it is not known - further destinies: Вailong is in doubt.

3. Viaduct Мijo (le Viaduct de Millar) -  the road bridge which is passing through a valley of the river Tarn near to the city of Mijo in France, - the biggest transport bridge in the world. Actually it is stretched over clouds. Building of this engineering legend has begun in October 2001 and proceeded more than three years.

4. Langeled - the underwater pipeline, the biggest on extent a sea gas pipeline.

5. China can brag not only by its megahigh and heavy lift, together with a dam of "Three gorges" which Chineses have constructed on the river Yangtze.

6. In the State of Massachusetts is “the Central artery" (Big Dig), including roads, bridges and the most complicated tunnels. Works on realization of this project have begun in 1985, and it is not known, when they will end. For all time of existence of the United States this is the most expensive, in total the project has cost 15 billion dollars.

7. And the last, it is necessary to pay attention to Egyptian project Toshka in Mubarak. Toshka is a surprising attempt to transform a half-million of acres of a landscape of desert in an arable land. In March, 2005 the American Society of civil engineers named this project Toshka - one of five most outstanding achievements of civil building for current year.
