THE “WATER” HOUSE

“Water, water – all around water”, – these words as well as possible corresponds to the unique building H2O created by the project of architects of the studio “Axis Mundi”.
The building is intended for the corporation which is engaged in manufacture and sale of fizzy water in bottles. The composition of the newest polymeric materials and steel armature has allowed masters to create something

impressing and unusual, changing and amazingly beautiful. The light is reflected from walls of a building and interfered – as a result at passerby the impression is made that every second on them water stream can be overthrown.

Before starting building, architects long time studied physics of waves and how light is reflected from a surface of streams, the rivers and lakes. On the basis of the photographic image of waves the 3D-model which then has been transferred on a facade of a building with special carefulness has been created. Somewhere lines were displaced, in some places were imposed against each other – all it has allowed to create a live, constantly changing picture.
Light freely gets through the improvised waves, refracting and dissipating naturally. As a result in office premises the soft matte twilight even in hot midday reigns.

H2O is an excellent example of how the original idea transforms a banal city structure into a unique masterpiece.
