China tests space nuclear reactor
China has successfully tested a nuclear reactor designed to generate energy and move in outer space, according to Space News.
The reactor was developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and can generate one megawatt of electricity to power and propel the spacecraft.
On August 25, the project passed a comprehensive evaluation of its effectiveness by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Meanwhile, details about the installation, originally published in the Chinese press, were subsequently removed.
