The scientists of Oakland  Research centre have shown, that the substance known already more of hundred years — methylene blue— can slow down or even treat an Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Searches of medicines for these diseases, which would be capable if not completely to cure then to slow down their development, many years are proceed. However recently the scientists were able to find out a potential medicine in methylene blue — known more of a century. In small concentration, the preparation slows down cellular ageing and strengthens function of Mitochondrion.
