Romanian Scientists Invent Artificial Blood

Scientists from Babeay-Bolyai, Romania, have managed to produce an artificial blood that is claimed to be able to be used for humans in the future. The artificial blood is made of water, salt, and hemerythrin protein extracted from sea-worms.

Daily Mail reported that the artificial blood have been tested in lab rats and prove to have no harmful side effect. However, human experiment is not really an option at the moment. Dr. Radu Silaghi-Dumitrescu, one of the key scientists in the research, stated that the blood can even create 'instant blood' when mixed with water. Prior to the invention, Edinburgh and Bristol University have managed to create a red blood cells taken from the bone marrow.
