The tears caused by a grief, and tears from onions have a different chemical compound

 

When tears come close to the eyes of grief, you can make a joke that someone is cutting onions in your room. But if you think about it, the question arises whether these two types of the same tears? This question can be answered by comparing the structure of the tears under the microscope. Photoproject Rosalynn Fisher “Topography of tears” – a spectacular pictures of abstract landscapes, obtained by considering human tears under a microscope. She began the project in the period of personal turmoil – while the artist began to think about how happy tears differ from tears of grief. Then she gathered catalog tears, photographed under a microscope – now album contains about 100 photos. Although the empirical nature of tears – chemistry (water, proteins, minerals, hormones, antibodies and enzymes), topography tears in the first place is the scenery of our emotions. Basal tears came into ones eyes when cutting onions, and emotional tears are composed of different chemical components, such as basal tears contain the enzyme lysozyme, which fights bacteria and tears of sorrow contain leucine enkephalin – a natural painkiller.
