Scientists have found a link between curiosity and  lifespan

Specialists from the University of Madrid discovered an interesting pattern between certain personality traits and life span.
Test data published in the Journal of Happiness Research found that the main factors contributing to healthy longevity are the ability to show gratitude and compassion, cheerfulness, vitality and, especially, curiosity.
About 14,000 people aged 100-107 participated in the research. Scientists have carefully studied the characteristics of their lifestyle and found out the character traits that help them live longer.
The most important characteristic is optimism accompanied by a sense of humor. They reduce the intensity of stress that inevitably accompanies people. Ideally, it would also be good to be a person of faith, this is a very serious psychological support.
Although, even without the assurance of divine influence over human destinies, one is capable of hoping for the best. You should not focus on the negative, it is important to forgive others and yourself for shortcomings and mistakes. this is also one of the characteristics of people with good health and a stable nervous system. Which definitely affects lifespan.
Education and mental activity are also important for mental well-being. They increase cheerfulness and elevate the general emotional mood.
Finally, one of the determinants of active longevity is curiosity. If a person is constantly interested in something, he is more connected to life. Cognitive activity encourages a person to develop and move forward. He does not focus on details, which helps to maintain energy and strength, contributing to the health of the body.
