Computer Smile is 30 years old

Internet smile was invented by American professor of computer schools Scott Fahlman in 1982. It was used as a tool by which Internet users could send emotions to their interlocutors.

To date, no one should have to be explained how to express dissatisfaction or pleasure on the Internet. Everybody knows, even a novice user.

Smiley continues to “develop” and now available many kinds of smiles, which are constructed from various combinations of graphical symbols – dots, dashes, commas, brackets, etc. More than five years the computer school in Pittsburgh every year on smile's birthday gives Smiley Award – prize for innovation, facilitating communication with a computer.
