What is the most popular programming language in 2023?
According to IT experts, the most popular programming language in 2023 is JavaScript. This data is based on the results of a survey conducted by the Stack Overflow website among developers.
The source notes that around 90,000 IT professionals from around the world participated in the survey. In the list of the most popular languages, as always, JavaScript is the leader, it was chosen by 63.61% of the respondents. The top three include languages such as HTML/CSS and Python with 52.97% and 49.28% respectively.
Java (30.55%), C# (27.62%) and C++ (22.42%) also appeared in the top ten most popular languages. As expected, Kotlin and Dart outperform Swift, but these three popular programming languages scored less than 10% in the developer survey.
Microsoft Teams (51.71%) won this year among the tools for remote communication and problem solving among professionals. In second and third place are Slack (47.59%) and Zoom (45.25%). Zoom topped the list last year.
Earlier, the survey also confirmed that developers have gradually started using artificial intelligence tools in their work, although some companies, for example Apple, have banned their employees from using the artificial intelligence-powered ChatGPT neural network for security reasons.
The vast majority of the respondents stated that they are positive about the use of artificial intelligence tools in the work process. However, many still doubt the reliability of the data provided by artificial intelligence, so they regularly double-check the performance of such tools.
