Tencent to build world's largest data center in China

Telecom holding company Tencent has completed part of the construction of the world's largest data center, which is set to become the largest in the world. "Itsai Global" information resource informed about this on Wednesday.

The facility, named the Advanced Computing Center for Artificial Intelligence, will be located in the Sunjiang District of Shanghai. The project is implemented by Tencent in cooperation with the district staff. Currently, according to Wang Zhixin, deputy head of the project operator, four buildings have been built, in which 10,000 servers are located.

After the completion of all works, 800 thousand servers should be located in the facility. The date of delivery of the object has not been specified yet.

The center will deal, in particular, with data processing in the field of cloud computing, provision of instant information exchange services, as well as activities related to medical insurance.
