Secret of the formation of the Mediterranean sea

About 5,6 million years ago the place where the Mediterranean sea is now located, was absolutely dry, which was defined by tectonic transformations. However 300 thousand years ago all has been cardinally changed. The wall separating the Mediterranean sea from the source of water, has been destroyed. Scientists have found out, that the Mediterranean sea has formated in some months. When it was formed, the water level has been raised every day about 10 metres.
The scientists continued their research works. According to the results they have created the computer model of the stream of the water from Atlantic to the Mediterranean sea. The results of modelling have shown, that the current began to extend more and more and eventually has destroyed the wall. And then thousand tons of water have rushed in the sea pool.
Now scientists are disturbed by the fact that very soon the Mediterranean sea will be a usual lake and disappear from the face of the earth.
