Philips has introduced headphones for sleep
They stop the music when the user falls asleep and turn on the white noise for better sleep.
Philips has released the new N7808 headphones, developed in collaboration with the Kokoon brand. They are designed to be used while sleeping and to be used in the most comfortable bed possible.
For easy wearing, the earphones themselves are made very thin at only 6mm. Common headphones of this type are about 20mm thick. But due to the reduction in thickness, I had to move the battery and Bluetooth module to a separate unit.
There's no active noise cancellation here, but the headphones can generate intelligent white noise that masks sounds that might wake the user up.
With built-in sensors, the N7808 can track sleep patterns to gradually turn off music or an audiobook as the user falls asleep. After that, only white noise will be played if necessary. The sleep report can be viewed in an app that Philips also developed together with Kokoon.
Declared autonomy 10 hours, recharging via USB-C.
Outwardly, this novelty is very similar to Kokoon Nightbuds. Differences between devices are likely due to minor differences in sound quality, companion app, and design.
The Philips N7808 retails for $249, but early birders will be able to get it for a discounted price of $174.
