Amazon is testing humanoid robots in its warehouses

Amazon is testing humanoid robots in its warehouses, as the American technology giant tries to automate its operations, writes PA Media.
The company said it is testing a new robot called Digit in a warehouse in Texas that has arms and legs and can move, grasp and handle objects just like a human.
There have been concerns that the move to automation could affect jobs at Amazon facilities, but the company says the technology will help "free up employees to better serve our customers."
In its robotics announcement, Amazon noted that its robotics systems have actually helped create "hundreds of thousands of new jobs" at the company's facilities.
"This includes 700 new job categories for qualified professionals not previously employed by the company," the company said.
The company says it currently has more than 750,000 robots working "collaboratively" with staff.
