One of the world's largest solar power plants will soon be put into operation in the UAE

Abu Dhabi's national energy company TAQA plans to put into operation one of the world's largest solar power plants in the near future, which will allow the UAE to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.4 million tons per year. This was announced by the general director of the company Jasem Hossein Thabet.
According to TAQA's director, the electricity produced at the plant will be sold at a tariff of 1.32 cents per kWh, making the project "one of the most efficient in the world".
The construction of the station began in 2020 in the Ad Dhafra region, which is located in the capital city of Abu Dhabi. Along with TAQA company, Emirati Masdar, French EDF Renewables and Chinese Jinko Power participate in the project.
